Our Story

Real Life Church began as Berean Church in January 1977 with a mission to involve people in worship, fellowship and Christian service.

During the first few months of our existence, services were held at a bank building on FM 1960 on Sunday afternoon. Then in April of 1977 a building formerly used as doctor/dental offices was purchased and moved to. Renovation of the building allowed for office, classroom and sanctuary space. Dedication of the original building was held on June 19, 1977. In 1982 the church was renamed Willowbrook Church.

In 1996, under the leadership of Pastor Fred and Betty Hill, construction was completed.

In September of 1999, Willowbrook purchased a three bedroom, two-bath house adjacent to the church. The house, known as the “House of Prayer,” sat on 1.4 acres and was remodeled to accommodate meeting and classroom needs.

After a few years, we needed additional space to accommodate the expanding ministry. In April 2002, we completed construction of a 9,000 square foot facility. This two-story building housed our children’s ministry, student ministry, and has several classrooms.

As our church continued to grow, our present facilities were maximized. Therefore in May 2008, the membership of our church held a special meeting to consider the next step of our church. In that meeting, we decided to relocate the church and purchase land for future development.

In October 2009 we purchased 12 acres of land located just north of Spring Cypress Road and Hwy 249.

We moved into our new location in December 2016.  We give God all of the glory, and we are happy to continue to reach Northwest Houston.  We seek to be a place where life change happens by loving God, building people, and touching the world.
